Mrs. Margie Louise Jones Sloan, age 88, of Blountsville passed away Sunday, July 26th, 2015 at St. Vincent's Blount.

Survivors include daughters Annette Sloan Callan, Cathy Sloan (Billy) Irvin, Carol Sloan (Creag) Copeland; brother E. Paul Jones, sister Barbara Jones (Ralph) Young; grandchildren William S. (Kim) Callan, Michael Brent (Mandy) Irvin, Christopher Eric (Cassie) Irvin, Randy (Hallie) Copeland, Cody (Hannah) Copeland; and 8 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Coy Edward and Maude Cornelius Jones; husband Samuel Anderson "Snook" Sloan, and brother Harold Joe Jones.

The family will receive friends at the Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home 17885 State Highway 160 Cleveland, Alabama 35049 on Tuesday, July 28th, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 29th, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel 17885 State Hwy 160 Cleveland, Alabama 35049, with burial to follow at Dailey's Chapel Cemetery in Rosa, Alabama.

Mrs. Sloan was involved with many organizations throughout her lifetime. She was a member of Alfa Women, Cattlemen Association "Cowbell's", Blount County Iris and Day Lily Association, Southern Decorative Artist Guild, Methodist Women's Club, worked on the Blount County Fair Board, she was a volunteer at the hospital, she worked with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, she loved to travel and was given numerous awards for her yard and flower gardens.
