Obituary for Milford Luther Bailey

Milford Luther Bailey, 84 years of age, passed away at his home in Cleveland on March 29, 2018 after a long illness. Funeral Services for Mr. Bailey will be held at the Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home on March 31, 2018 with Bro. Rufus Harris and Bro. Randy Cater officiating, burial to follow at Cleveland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at Blount County/Cleveland Home on Friday, March 30, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Mr. Bailey was born in Baileyton, Alabama on December 26, 1933. He was employed as a salesman at Bebco for 25 years and at Industrial Hydraulics for 27 years. He is preceded in death by his father Alonzo Bailey, his mother Bessy Bailey and three brothers, Virgil Bailey, Britton Bailey and Felston Bailey and his grandson Jeremy Auston Lee.

Milford was married to Jean Hughes Bailey on February 27, they were blessed with 59 years of loving marriage and their three children. Milford was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Jean Hughes Bailey and children, David L. Bailey (Velicia), Phillip W. Bailey (Meliah) and Jena Bailey Lee (Chris), grandchildren, Bryan Bailey (Amanda), Dalton Bailey, Matt Lee and Shelly Bailey. He has one great grandchild Norah Bailey. He had numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends. He devoted his life to his faith in God, his wife Jean and his family. He set an example for his children of faith, love and devotion. He was a man who never met a stranger and loved to talk about his life, faith and family. You could always count on him to have a smile on his face, a story to tell and a joke to make you laugh. He was liked by many but loved by many, many more. A deacon at Gate City Baptist Church and at First Baptist Church of Chalkville where he also taught Sunday school and brought countless people to know Christ. A member of Locust Fork Baptist Church at the time of his death.
