Obituary for Lewis Bomar McElhaney
Lewis Bomar McElhaney age 89, of Cleveland, Alabama passed away Friday, July 21st, 2023 at Diversicare in Oneonta, Alabama.
Mr. McElhaney is survived by his wife of 63 years Patricia (Rhodes) McElhaney, his sons Bartt McElhaney and Brett McElhaney(Rena), daughters Cheryl Myrick(Garry) and Michelle Smith, sister Joyce Culberson and his grandchildren Melissa, Amanda, John, Susie and Destiny, 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Jaddie (Watson) McElhaney and his sister Margaret Burcon.
The family will receive friends at Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home 17885 St Hwy 160 Cleveland, Alabama 35049 Tuesday, July 25th, 2023 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, July 25th, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Holleman Memorial Gardens in Fort Payne, Alabama.
Mr. McElhaney served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed airplanes, flying airplanes and he did get his pilot's license. He enjoyed playing outdoors sports with his grandchildren every chance he got.
