Obituary for Leo "Hobby" Hobson "Hobby" Smith

Leo "Hobby" Smith age 90, of Cleveland went to be with his savior on Friday, April 9th, 2021 at Diversicare, in Oneonta, AL.

He is survived by his wife Jean Smith, daughters Kathy (Frank) Pearman, Karen ( Gerald) Gamble, and Kristy (Greg) Posey, brothers Bill Smith, George Smith, grandchildren Derek (Alison) Pearman, Adam (Elizabeth) Gamble, Katie (Richard) Boyd, Andrew Baker, Paige (Mason) Grimes, Ty (Sheyenne) Posey, great grandchildren Caroline Boyd, Amber and Anna Frey, and Knox Peoples. He is preceded in death by his parents Leo and Ruby Smith, son Steven Hobson Smith, brother Bob Smith, and sister Inez Hendrix.

The family will receive friends at Green's Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church 811 Green's Chapel Road Cleveland, Alabama 35049 on Monday, April 12th, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 12th, 2021 at 3:00 pm in Greens Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with burial to follow in Green's Chapel cemetery. Pallbearers will be Derek Pearman, Adam Gamble, Andrew Baker, Richard Boyd, Greg Posey, and Bryan Smith.

Mr. Smith was the caretaker for Green's Chapel cemetery for 40+ years, He was an elder in the church, Mr. Smith enjoyed hunting rabbits. He loved working with mules & horses, and he loved John Wayne westerns. He also loved to garden. But most of all, he was a hard worker and loved his family dearly.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Diverscare and Encompass hospice.
