John Clyde Statham, Sr., age 90, of Blountsville passed away on Monday, July 22nd, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A veteran of the United States Army, Mr. Statham was a known farmer that enjoyed his cattle, baling hay, loved his tractors, and was an avid Alabama football fan. He was a member of the Blountsville Baptist Church and also the Blount County Cattleman's Association.
Left to cherish precious memories are his wife Jenette Walker Statham; son John Clyde Statham, Jr.; daughter Teresa Smith, husband Rodney; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Mr. Statham is preceded in death by his parents Richard Alexander and Susie Mae Statham; brothers Bill Statham, Bob Statham, Carl Shelton; sisters Mary Hill, Ruth Shelton, Eloise Chamblee, and Pauline Norris.
The family will receive friends at the Blountsville Baptist Church on Thursday, July 25th, 2019 from 6:00 pm unitl 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 26th, 2019 at 1:00 pm in Blountsville Baptist Church. Mr. Statham will lie in state on Friday from 10:00 am until service time. Burial to follow at Antioch Cemetery in the Liberty Community.
