Janice Burgess Richey, age 72, of Oneonta passed away peacefully on Friday, January 3rd, 2020 surrounded by her family at her residence. Mrs. Richey was a life long member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Bessemer, a CNA for Golden Living Center for 17 years, and an avid Alabama fan. She was the caregiver to her son Steven and doted on her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include husband Larry Richey; sons Steven Burgess, Kenneth Richey; daughters Dawn Burgess, Amanda Bryant, Tonia Richey; sister Alice Tubbs; grandchildren Allan, Ashley, Alaura, Jacob, Austin, Brittany, Lyndsie, Chris, Selena, Connor, Zac, Kennidy, Jordan; and 13 Great Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her parents James Richard Banks and Geneva Rosenell Banks Clifton; her brothers Roland Banks, Clifton Banks, Joe Banks; and sister Charlcie Lucas.

The family will receive friends at the Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home on Saturday, January 11th, 2020 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Funeral Services will follow on Saturday, January 11th, 2020 at 1:00 pm in Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Raymond Moore officiating. Burial to be at Nectar Cemetery in Cleveland, Alabama. Pallbearers will be Josh Smith, Allan Burchfield, Jason Richey, Jerry Whittington, Jordan Smith, Eric Tidwell, Tahlequah Bell, Robert Bryant, Christian Richey.
