Obituary for James Bradford Witt
James Bradford Witt of Hayden, AL age 53 passed away January 14, 2021 at UAB, Birmingham.
Surviving Mr. Witt are his mother Virginia Witt, son Aaron Witt, daughter Della Abney (Brandon), Brother Joey Witt (Sandy), sister Judy Jones and grandchildren Harper Witt, Hudson Witt and Margot Abney. He is preceded in death by his father James Kenneth Witt.
The family will receive friends at Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home, 17885 State Hwy. 160, Cleveland , Al. Tuesday , January 19, 2021 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Funeral Services will be January 19, 2021, 1:00 pm at Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home with burial to follow at Green's Chapel Cemetery, Hwy. 79, Cleveland, AL.
Mr. Witt was an active member of the Alabama Fruit & Vegetables Growers' Association and an advocate for their scholarship program. He was also President of the Alabama Farmers Market in Birmingham. He graduated with a Masters of Science in Horticulture from Auburn University Mr. Witt was a renowned and respected person with the agriculture industry. He had a generous heart and was always more than willing to go out of his way to meet someone's needs. He enjoyed fishing, farming, watching movies and listening to music but most of all "Pop-Pop" loved his grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Alabama Fruit & Vegetable Association. They will be setting up a scholarship fund in Mr. Witt's memory. Please send all gifts to: AFVGA, Attention: Scholarships, P. O. Box 11000, Montgomery, AL 36191.
