James (J. L.) Luther Pass, age 74, of Cleveland passed away Friday, June 3rd, 2016 at his residence.

Survivors include wife Jackie Tidwell Pass; son James Chad (Lynn) Pass; daughters Tammie (Daniel) Smith, Tracy Swindle (Marty) Rotenberry; sisters Sue (Martin) Faust, Edwina Bryan; grandchildren Kyle (Hannah) Smith, Clay Smith, Tori Swindle, Trey Swindle, Britton Pass, Bradie Pass, Pate Pass, Jessica Smith (Noah) Davenport, Daniel Rotenberry, Bart (Mitzelle) Bicknell, and Hunter. He is preceded in death by his parents Edwin A. and Ethel Rutherford Pass.

The family will receive friends at the Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home 17885 State Highway 160 Cleveland, Alabama 35049 on Monday, June 6th, 2016 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held following at 2:00 PM in Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Cleveland Cemetery in Cleveland, Alabama.

Mr. Pass loved hunting, working on his job as a lineman for Alabama Power Company, spending time with his grandchildren, attending ballgames, camping with his family, and was a great storyteller.
