George D. Lewis age 75, of Hayden passed away Monday, July 2nd, 2018 at St. Vincent's Main.

He is survived by his loving wife Joyce York Lewis; son Ronald Price; daughters Myra Grund (Mike), Teresa Hudson (Randy); brothers John Lewis and Richard Lewis; and sister Nancy Roe; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Audrey (Burkhalter) Lewis and brother Edward Lewis.

The family will receive friends at the Gethsemane Baptist Church on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Gethsemane Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the Gethsemane Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Lewis was retired as a 3rd Division Utilities Engineer, with the Alabama Department of Transportation.


Mr. Lewis was especially involved with his church, he was a Sunday School superintendent, he cooked Brotherhood breakfast every month at the church. He loved gardening and yard work.
