Obituary for Eldred "Mack" Mack Griffin

Eldred "Mack" Griffin age 94, of Oneonta passed away Thursday, November 4th, 2021 at his residence.

Survivors include Son Randall Griffin (Connie Ann), daughter Connie Sue Henson (Kevin), grandchildren Josh and Jonathan Price, Grant Griffin and one granddaughter Charity. Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Mrs. Vera Mae Johnson Griffin and a grandchild, Lee Stockman.

The family will receive friends at Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel 17885 State Hwy 160 Cleveland, Alabama 35049 Monday, November 8th, 2021 10:00 am 11:00 am Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 8th, 2021 at 11:00 am in Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home 17885 St Hwy 160 Cleveland, Alabama 35049, with burial to follow at Green's Chapel Cemetery in Cleveland, Alabama.

Eldred "Mack" Griffin served in WW II stationed in Juno, Alaska and served in Korean War from June 25, 1950 until January 31, 1955. He attended Green's Chapel Church for over 60 years and was a member of Chaney's Chapel Church in Jackson County. Mr. Griffin retired in 1980 from US Steel in Ensley, Alabama.

Eldred "Mack" Griffin was an avid Cleveland Panthers, Braves Baseball and Auburn Football fan. He was also known to visit his longtime friends as they became home bound or nursing home residents. In his later years, Mack volunteered at the Locust Fork Baptist Church in their Recreation Center and loved fun days each week.
