Obituary for Bill Smith

Bill Smith, age 76, of Hayden passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10th, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard and enjoyed cattle farming. having cattle since 1970. He opened H & S Garage on January 1, 1968 which became well known to the community. He attended Locust Fork Baptist Church as well as Oak Grove Baptist Church for a number of years. Mr. Smith took pride in his community, loved his family dearly, and was known as a hard working man.

Left to cherish precious memories is his wife of 57 years, Lovell Smith; children Bill Smith Jr., wife Cindy, Tammy B. Shelton, husband Danny; grandchildren Derek (Jill) Sherbet, Paige (Roger) Chamblee, Dakota Smith, Lacey Smith, Allie (Cameron) Hudson, Jessica Bentley, Amanda (Joel) Elmore, Daniel (Molly) Shelton; great grandchildren Dylan Salter, Evan Sherbet, Adalyn Sherbet, MaKayla Mullins, Melaina Mullins, Maggie Chamblee, Norah Hudson, DaniAnn Elmore, Eli Shelton, Lydia Shelton; brothers Jim Smith, Edward Smith; sister JoAnn Edgens; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by parents Lee Edward and Pearl Rebo Smith; baby daughter Pamela Paige Smith,; brothers Bob Smith, Blenard Smith; sisters Elene Dobbs, Doris Ralliff, Pat Gilispie, Linda Bradshaw, Betty Pinson.

The family will receive friends at the Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home on Sunday, May 12th, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 13th, 2019 at 12:00 pm in Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hayden, Alabama.
