Ledell was better known as "Pookie" to all those he was closest to. If you were lucky enough to know him, he was a bright and shining star in your life. And he would have definitely given you plenty of laughs.

His love for Elvis, The Beatles, Batman, and (most importantly) all pretty girls was like no one else. Watching him sing his favorite Elvis songs could bring a smile to anyone's face. He didn’t miss a beat.
He was a member of Cedar Mt Baptist Church (Pinson, AL) and was also one of the oldest living persons with Down Syndrome in the world at the time of his passing.

Ledell was preceded in death by his mother, Mary E Rigsby, who devoted her entire life to taking care of him.
Others include his father A.L. Rigsby, brother David Rigsby, and nephew David "Jacob" Rigsby.

Surviving family and friends include his loving sister and best friend since the day he was born, Sandy Davis. She gave him his lifelong “dream come true” when she moved him down to the beach with her for several years. She has been by his side through every high and every low.
His "favorite" niece and forever childhood playmate, Shannon Salter, who he adored jumping with on the trampoline, running through sprinklers, and occasionally playing putt-putt at the beach
His very special motorcycle-riding buddy and most loving father figure, Anthony Davis.
His friend and caretaker, Donna Hall, who he always called his “Peggy”.
Last but certainly not least, Nova Needham, who was his dear friend and special caregiver who stuck by his side until the end.

He loved, and was loved fiercely by all of us.
Our special angel will forever be in our hearts.
Rest in peace sweet Pookie.
